Fox Tail Grass

OK, this is an extension from a comment I posted about Stephanie's post about guessing our new toy that. Fox tail grass is pictured here and you can find it about anywhere in the US So if you want to try this foraging thing , you can. I told you it wouldn't be as hard as you think.


Wildman Steve Brill says in His Book "you can grind them up in a grain grinder and extend your flour by mixing it with other whole grain flours. It will greatly improve your breads, muffins, and pastries. You may also substitute them for poppy seeds. Cook them with rice, barley, millet, couscous and other grains. They Add crunchiness and a delicious nutty flavor."

So Yes We will forage and try to extend make our own flour...
