Cleveland Rocks

Well for those of you who don't know, I am from Northeast Ohio. I have never lived out of the state until I moved to West Virginia two years ago. (Has it really been that long?) Growing up, my dad was, and still is, a Cleveland fan, for all the major sports teams. So I naturally fell into line. I remember growing up in the 80's suffering through the Tribe 100 games losing seasons year after year. I remember the fumble Earnest Byner had and then the drive John Elway had after it, and I remember some guy named Michael Jordan hitting the last second shot over Craig Ehlo at the buzzer to send the Chicago Bulls to the NBA finals that year in 1993. In Cleveland there is always been something. Until the year 1995. When players like Orel Hershiser, Albert Belle, Jim Thome, Carlos Baerga, Kenny Lofton, Sandy Alomar, Eddie Murray, Omar Vizquel, and many more. Then there was that one guy from Akron (what's his name again?) where I was celebrating on my living room floor in Akron because the Cavs got the number one lottery pick that year.

This year I am pumped because a couple beat writers picked the Indians to go the the World Series. And now at the all-star break(1/2 way through the season), the Tribe is one game out of first place behind the Tigers. Now again don't get me wrong, I am not going to go out and buy world series tickets, have you, but I am ready to watch an exciting season that will come down to the last games in October where it will be the Indians battling to win first in the division and take the ALCS.

I'm with you. We are ready for Browns training camp to start. Anyone can go to watch them at the training facility in Berea for free. The kids like to go and get autographs and we sit right on the sidelines.
I think LeBron has been really great for NE Ohio. He's a good guy and does a lot for the community.
